Brian A. Aquart

Brian Aquart is a multi-faceted health care executive with 12+ years of experience
advising leaders and teams, fostering growth and innovation, implementing learning and
education programs, and managing conflict.

Currently, Brian is the Vice President, Workforce & Community Education, where he
serves as an executive in the Center for Learning & Innovation at Northwell Health, New
York State’s largest private employer. He actively partners with clinical and
administrative leadership to drive the strategic growth of key education, innovation,
workforce readiness, and community programs across the health system. He also leads
Northwell’s collaborative effort with the New York City Public Schools’ FutureReadyNYC
program, which looks to build a healthcare talent pipeline with a pathway to economic
security. In his spare time, he also hosts Why I Left, a podcast chronicling real stories
from real people about why they left their jobs during the pandemic.

Most recently, Brian served as the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President & CEO at
Northwell, managing a range of special projects, research, and initiatives to further
strategic priorities. He collaborated with the Chief Executive to determine and prioritize
business strategies and was a thought partner to other senior executives on key
initiatives.

Previously, Brian served as the Director, Human Resources at North Shore University
Hospital at Northwell, where he was responsible for the execution of strategic initiatives
that support the development and engagement of leaders and teams, and was a
strategic advisor on departmental restructuring, workforce planning, compensation, and
employee relations. He also played an integral role in the staff redeployment efforts
during the first wave of COVID-19 at the hospital. In 2016, Brian Joined Northwell as a
Human Resources Business Partner after serving as Executive Agency Counsel at the
New York City Human Resources Administration, an Agency Attorney with the New York
City Fire Department, and an Attorney in private practice focusing on employment law.

Brian graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in business
management and received his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. He
is a graduate of Northwell’s Executive Leadership Development Program and a Level 1
certified instructor of Talent Smart’s: Mastering Emotional Intelligence.
