Talent. It’s Hard. Period.

Talent. It's Hard. Period.

After decades or leading a variety of organizations, particularly during change, with the expectations of optimizing and growing “business” and inherently retaining, reorganizing, and/or rebuilding the talent within the organization, it’s clear there is no one right answer to the challenge of  retaining and growing talent across an organization.

Independent and large consulting firms have mastered the use of buzz words, beautiful PowerPoint decks, and professional prose to tell us what we already know but without the critical next steps of true tactical implementation and tools to get results…or even helping to define the realistic results an organization should expect.

Retaining and growing talent is an issue for all industries and impacts employees at all levels within the organization.  It’s more than money.  It’s more than having a good boss.  It’s more than a sign-on bonus.  It’s more than the somewhat immeasurable “company culture”. And for every organization it can be different.

In some industries, finding talent is a bigger issue than retaining and developing talent…we would argue that retaining and developing talent starts with recruiting the right talent, and that all avenues that take us to optimal retention and talent development must intersect.

It is for this reason we have developed our RETAIN model. RETAIN is a tactical, realistic, model for organizations to clearly understand the organization, challenges, priorities, and goals that will truly change retention and talent development across the organization and ultimately improve those business results leadership is measured by.

At WeLearn, we are problem solvers. We believe in getting to know the challenges our customers are facing and identifying strategies that work specifically for our customers. We are not one to build a cookie cutter Powerpoint deck (don’t get us wrong, we like a good PowerPoint deck), nor do we believe that there is value in the presentation of vanilla observations. The power in what we do is driven in our ability to understand our customers biggest issues when it comes to talent and providing meaningful and measurable solutions to allow them to make the breakthroughs they need in order to drive the business results they require.

RETAIN is a tactical, realistic, model for organizations to clearly understand the organization, challenges, priorities, and goals that will truly change retention and talent development across the organization and ultimately improve those business results leadership is measured by.

RETAIN (Recruit, Educate, Train, Advance, Incent, Nurture)

Our hope is to create a dialog with companies and industries who are serious about the need for talent  and who want to engage with us to solve their most pressing talent needs.
